Lovely, comfortable room. The hotel is located in a lovely, quiet part of Glasgow, but with easy walking distance of the city centre on the one side and Kelvingrove and the West End on the other side.
I was happy with everything.
The rooms are well designed, Very Comfortable and warm for a small hotel. Well worth the money and close to the city centre.
I had I.T problems with connecting to the WI-FI but there was no one available to help with these problems. Disapointing as i was there on business and need access to the internet.
It's a small hotel in the west end near to the city centre attractions. The decor was very tasteful and plenty of room. Comfortable bed and pillows - what more can you ask for?
Good breakfast. Good, functional room but few other facilities. A bit like an up market Travelodge but none the worse for that if a comfortable night's sleep is what you are looking for. Good location and easy parking at the weekend.
Intrusive TV during breakfast.
Great location in the City, 5 mins walk from the city centre and 5 mins walk from Kelvingrove park. The hotel itself and the rooms were attractive and the breakfast was good
Staff could have been more engaging
Room and location suited our needs - at Irish Dancing Comp. Senior staff member extremely friendly and helpful.
The receptionist/manager/chef was very helpful and seemed to be doing everything! Yet he was always friendly. Lovely hotel.
No lock on bedroom window which had a flat roof directly outside it (no 13) so felt a little unsure about security.
Great central location in Glasgow. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast.
Did not seem to have a guest sitting room or lounge.
Hotel staff Cleanliness of our room Value for money Location
Internet was free.... but impossibly slow! Almost useless
Slightly quirky with a bit of character made it better than the average hotel stay for me...okay so the floors sloped a bit, which reduced the cost of buying alchol to get the same affect (I jest...I drank just as much ;¬P The good thing, is it was 30 seconds walk (literally) from my work office. Excellent.
The room was small..but in a way that added to the charm - just don't expect to swing a cat about! No evening eating facilities - for most the the town centre is just down the road - but I was alone on business, knackered, and slightly under the weather - I would have been pleased just to pop down stairs to eat...but this was not to be, so I slinked into town past Nicensleezy, Driftwood and past the rowdy yoof (out of my comfort factor TBH) and other such joys of city life!
it was central to where we needed to be on the night. The room was spacious and a good sized bathroom. Room was modern in style as was the bathroom/shower (double).
There was a lot of noise outside even though it was off the main road. Rooms are not very sound proof as you can hear the tv in adjoining rooms along with other noise. Rooms need more soundproof, also the room we were in, the extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy when you put the light on.
Hotel/room was cleaned and decorated to very high standard and I liked the security at the main entrance doorway. It was super easy to check-in and check-out and the on street parking outside the hotel was cheap and easy to find. In the room, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had plenty towels and toilet toll! The shower was great - nice strong water flow - and the toiletries provided were nice and made washing easy. Great access to the city centre too - a short walk away. We would definitely stay again.
Food at breakfast was average and the breakfast room had poor ventilation so the whole room smelled of the cooking breakfast - even got a tiny little bit smoky. We left smelling like we'd been to a greasy spoon. Room was also too warm - the thermostat was broken on both the radiator and the towel rail. Fortunately the radiator was off but the towel rail was boiling - had to sleep with the windows open which caused a noise problem for a short while but the street noise quietened down quite quickly. Thank goodness for earplugs! Could do with toothbrush holders of some description too.....
it had hair dryer and straighteners ready to go.Clean Friendly helpful
that you have to order breakfast the night before. it dont take 2 mins to put bacon in the pan?? and charge there to the room and then you could have a coffee while u wait! and more tea coffee and milk in the room
close to city centre and close to secc
The modern rooms, quietness and location of the hotel were great. The staff were polite and always helpful. Rooms were beautiful and with the security door on the front of the hotel we always felt safe. Location wise its quiet but very close to the SECC and that was the reason we picked the Acorn.
